Got home from other route. At around 4:45pm, G and I walked to Uvic to join the crowd. It was starting to rain a little bit at that time but still not stopping the people to come to join the event. Around 5:20 or so, the Olympic Torch Bearer finally run in front of us. People were clapping their hands. I had never seen the Olympic Torch so close to me before. Actually, it is not that close, it is about 2 cars distance. I took some pictures. We left as soon as we did not see the Bearer and walked home. 15 minutes after we arrived home, it started to rain heavely. I hope the Bearer had escaped the rain and was in the covered hall already at that time.

Olympic Torch will be in town tomorrow

According to the paper of the Saanich News, Olympic Flame will land at Victoria International Airport at around 7:15am tomorrow (Friday). It will cross Elk Lake by boat between 3:49 pm and 4:16 pm then will reemerge at 4:29 pm just east of the intersection and begin its march to the UVic with a celebratory stopover at Braefoot Park. I think I have to cancel my workout tomorrow because the Torch route is exactly the same route that I am taking to home from work everyday. I have to go to the different route to home tomorrow. Hopefully, I will not get hold up and got stuck on the road.

Discovered the haunted House at Dunbar, Vancouver yesterday

We had a very fun time exploring the haunted house last night. What an excellent job they had done in there! Everyone is so professional for being a scared charecter. We enjoyed every minute of it. Very well done. Yeah, I was scared but I don’t think G was scared at all as he had so much fun there. He acted like a kid again last night. BTW, I did not recognize who is H until P & F said it out. Well done, H! Blessed the heart of the house owner who shared out his front and back yard and decorated it into a haunted house theme. It is a free admission event but if you like, you can make your donations. This year if I remembered correctly, I think it is for the 3 charites as the following: The Burn Unit, The Police charities fund and the Christmas Breau. I heard last year they had raised $30,000 for the charities. Hope this year it will have more. It is very worth to spend somtimes there.

G & I went over to Vancouver on Oct 22 (Thursday) for watching the basketball game at the GM Place. It was the game between Phoenix Suns and Portland Trailblazers. It was a very good game although our team (the Sun) was lost. Our seats were at the second row. Just four rows behind where the Suns stay. So closed to see all the Stars there. We had a very wonderful night. After the game, we went home at F & P’s place, G had made the garlic and the black bean paste clams and the ginger/green onion crabs. So delicious! H also joined us at P & F’s place. We all had a very good mid-night snacks.

Yesterday, P was off so we had the brunch at the restaurant in North Vancouver called Tomahawk Restaurant where we never been there before. It is a very unique place. I had a very nice Seaburger with greens. After the brunch, we went for shopping. It was raining but it did not spoil our shopping spirit. I was trying to look for a long parka coat but I could not find any and ended up we bought a lot of other stuff at Costco. At night, F & P took us to another new Chinese food restaurant called “Lin” where we had never been there before either. The food was very good but seems they are not well organized as the service was not good as we had to wait for our food for over an hour. Looks like they have not enough waitress.

We will go home today after the lunch. We will have dim sum at the North Vancouver and H is going to join us. I had asked P to ask if J will come to join us last night dinner but P told me that J has to volunteer, he couldn’t come, so I asked if J can come for lunch today and we can go to Richmond there so that it will be closer for J to join us, but P said he did not reply so we just eat in North Vancouver instead. My 2 days vacation were over and will go to work on Monday.

How can he asked his 85 years old dad for $100,000.00 just because his dad had promised that he will give each of his sons that kind of money when the money is ready. He even wants to cut the line instead of being the 2nd one to have it, he wants to be the first one to get it.

He needs the money is because his only son, a grown up 29 years old man needs the money to get a condo and he would like his dad to give money to his son to buy it. What about him? Can he help out his son? He and his wife both had a very nice income every month. why they don’t help out his son? Besides, if his son does not have that kind of money, why he needs to buy the condo right now but not try to save more money and buy it later?

I am speechless after I found out this. All I can think of is this is very REDICULOUS!

34th Years

Can’t beleived that today is the 34th anniversary of our marraige. Times fly. Thank you to God for His Blessings to my family.

My daughter P and her husband took us out to dinner last night at the Oak Bay Marina. We enjoyed the night very much. Thank you so much to them.

Due to the Thanksgiving long weekend, all my children from Vancouver are home. My husband and I are very happy to see them all here and this is always the best gifts to us at all time.

We are going to Vancouver to watch the basket ball game with P and her husband next week. H does not want to join us as she has no interest in this kind of sport. However, she had bought us a pair of hockey game tickets on that Sunday. Unfortunately, we have to decline the gift as October is my company’s year end and I don’t want to take any time off. Even thought the game is on Sunday, by the time the game is finished, it will be too late to come back to Victoria. Besides, G’s father is not well and he does not want to stay that long in Vancouver. We felt terribly sorry to H.

First time on the Blog

My husband’s brother’s whole family were here today. We took them to sightseeing. We had a good time together. I have not been to the breakwater at least 10 years or more, today, when I was there, I noticed that this place has been changed quite a bit. We saw 2 big cruise ships were parking at there. A lot of sightseeing buses. There were quite a few people were fisihing and some were doing the diving. I also saw some star fish and jellie fish under the sea. I even saw two sea lions swimming there! Marianne and Heather took a lot of pictures. Seems everybody had a good time today.
